NASSAU COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT 4TH PRECINCT OPENS

After a year and half of construction, the Police Officers and staff at the Nassau County Fourth Precinct moved into their brand new facility.  The new Precinct building represents a tremendous upgrade from their past building and will enable them to complete their work at the highest level well into the future.

LAVALLE STADIUM NORTH END ZONE EXPANSION

During the Spring of 2017, Fortunato Sons Contracting constructed a new bleacher section to close in the bowl at the north end of LaValle Stadium at Stony Brook University. This project was a fast track project, with the bleachers being substantially completed in time for spring commencement.

AQUATIC CENTER AT STONY BROOK UNIVERSITY

NASSAU COUNTY 4TH POLICE PRECINCT BUILDING ERECTION

Fortunato Sons Contracting was awarded the project of replacing an aging police precinct with a newer, more modern facility allowing the staff to better protect and serve the public. On August 23, 2016 the erection of the precast concrete superstructure kicked off after weeks of planning, coordination and fabrication. Over 300 picks were safely and successfully made, some exceeding 45,000 lbs in weight. Just under five weeks later, the operation concluded with the two-story building ready for mechanicals and interior fit out to begin.

WANTAGH TRAIN STATION - EAST CANOPY REMOVAL

With removal of the "on-platform" waiting room and stair enclosures completed, the next demolition phase of the project continues. After much collaboration and coordination with local authorities and the LIRR Management Team and with a good deal of preparation work completed; on June 22, 2016 Team Fortunato removed the old 1960's vintage, deteriorating, structural steel/concrete canopies at the Wantagh Train Station.

BEAM REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT AT PRITCHARD POOL
May 5, 2015

On May 5 2015, Fortunato Sons Contracting removed an 85 foot long concrete beam, weighing 100,000 lbs, from the Pritchard Pool facility at Stony Brook University. On the same day the concrete beam was replaced with a steel I-beam in order to allow the facility to meet all NCAA diving requirements.
