Many of the projects Fortunato builds contribute to the quality of everyday life. This is particularly true in the area of municipal projects. Fortunato has worked with municipalities for many years. Through that work has come an understanding that municipal buildings do not belong to any one administration, but to the people. It is Fortunato’s privilege to have been selected to work for the people on municipal projects time and again.

United States Postal Facilities
Fortunato has built several postal facilities sometimes retaining ownership and leasing to the U.S. Postal Department. Pictured above Floral Park Post Office, and left Lake Grove Post Office.

Nassau County Police Headquarters
When Fortunato built the main headquarters for the Nassau County Police, the Department was able to centralize their offices and activities and coordinate their efforts from one consolidated facility.

Hempstead Town Hall
A recognizable cornerstone of the community, Hempstead’s Town Hall serves as the home for town offices, municipal agencies and service bureaus. Fortunato won a Long Island Association Merit Award for this building. The award specifically cites Fortunato for the “general enhancement of Nassau & Suffolk Counties”.

New York State Office Building
This facility is located in Hauppauge, New York. It serves the people of Suffolk County, who, if not for this facility, would have to travel many miles west to receive state services.
