Smithtown Library Lower Level Reconstruction

Fortunato Sons Contracting, Inc. served as General Contractor for the reconstruction and renovation of the lower level of the Smithtown Library following significant flood damage from the August 2024 storm. The project included demolition and complete reconstruction of the damaged lower-level spaces, along with alterations to portions of the main and upper levels. The newly renovated facility includes public restrooms, study rooms, learning labs, government services areas, a podcast studio, and other updated spaces designed to enhance library services and the patron experience. The project restored and modernized a significant portion of the library while preserving its role as an important community and historical resource for the Town of Smithtown.
